2nd Birthday Portraits at Deming Farm | Newington, CT

A few weeks ago, we met with my good friend Allison, her husband Brad, and daughter Leah for her 2nd birthday portraits! We met just over a year ago after they moved to Connecticut and for a while lived in the same town together. Even though they have since moved, we still get together as our kids love to play and we love their company also! Leah turned 2 in May and we scheduled her 2nd birthday portraits at Deming Farm in Newington, CT. This is a well known local spot for dog walking and community gardening and a lovely wide open space that I definitely hope to utilize for future sessions! I love to find outdoor locations to photograph portraits that are unique, less known at least in the photography world, and are simple, yet naturally striking. Such is the case with Deming Farm. Even after I had arrived and was looking around the landscape, I noticed that some gorgeous bell flowers had just started to bloom on the side of the old farmhouse that I knew would be the perfect backdrop to start our shoot. Sure enough, they became some of my favorite photos! Although the sunset didn’t cooperate, we still were left with a beautiful evening enhanced by the joy of a spunky little girl who laughed every time my daughter did something silly behind her! I am so proud of this collection of photos for her second birthday, and will be honored when her parents choose something to hang in their new home!
