Apple Picking Photos at Deercrest Farm | Glastonbury, CT

Fall family photo season is in full swing, and what better way to start things off than with an apple picking adventure! We met The Gale Family a few weeks ago for apple picking photos at Deercrest Farm in Glastonbury, CT where they are CSA members. What a cute farm stand and orchard! Mom, Shawna, happens to be the co-founder of the VERY popular website, Out And About Mom. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used her website looking for fun, affordable, and local things to do here in Connecticut! Recently, I became a sponsor of her site (what better way to connect my photography with parents!), and shortly after we discussed collaborating on a blog post for her page! As is a common theme with my photography sessions, I wanted to be able to do something unique with their family. Knowing they had 2 boys, the challenge with most family sessions is keeping them interested after the first few photos are taken. The apple orchard was at the top of my list, and we had a wonderful time exploring and apple picking at Deercrest Farm! The trees were bursting with apples of all sizes (the ones we spent the most time near were HUGE!). The boys were happy to check out my array of props I brought along, especially the old wagon, which made for some adorable candid images later in the session! And of course, having a big juicy apple to bite into wasn’t a bad idea either! I love that we started the official fall season with this family and I’m so happy to be able to provide heirloom quality images for them that will last a lifetime!
