Boy Winter Onederland Cake Smash | Hartford, CT
It seems like just yesterday that little Nathan was here for his sports themed Newborn photos, but just like that, it’s been a year and another one of my babies is turning ONE! With a winter birthday, a boy winter ONE-derland cake smash was fitting, and I was so excited! Last year you may have seen our girl-version of the winter one-derland cake smash theme, so this time we had to get creative to make it a little more masculine (if desired). With so many adorable props to choose from, a new blue/snowflake backdrop, and a gorgeous cake by Betty’s Cake Creations, we were all set up for a fun photoshoot! Nathan had a blast playing with balloons to start off with his “clean” portraits. We used my white bed set up which I knew would go perfectly with his theme in the final gallery. He may have tried to crawl off of it a lot, but Mom was right there (as was I) to make sure he didn’t get too silly! Then we headed over to our set area and suddenly, Nathan wasn’t too keen on Mom not being there with him. Luckily for his parents, I have SO much experience with this! And it’s a big reason why we don’t schedule more than one session per morning. Because he needed a little extra time to get comfortable, have a snack, and get used to Mom being a little bit farther away. And eventually, we realized that cake was going to make things better (and when DOESN’T cake make things better?!). So out came his delicious cake and sure enough, things were MUCH better. He loved the frosting and using the spoon as a tool (even figured out how to eat from it all by himself!). After eating for a while we turned to clean up with a bath. Right before this, he realized that Mom was far away again so bath time was short-lived! But this is a big reason why we have multiple changes during appointments for this age. He had a great gallery and his parents LOVED the photos! They came out beautiful in our Signature Album and accordion mini books that they chose.
