This family had been following my page for some time, and when it came time to a few very special milestones towards the end of last year, I was so happy that they inquired with me to do them! Joining us for our Santa Experience & Family Sessions and also planning for a dinosaur cake smash gave us quite a few instances for some cute photos! Now I have done some similar scenes with safari animals before, but a true dinosaur theme was new! And that’s very surprising! Mom helped out finding some big balloons and I took care of the rest and a very cute scene was produced! He was decorated like an adorable little cave man and just loved flashing us these smiles and he explored the set, dinosaurs, and footprints! We always like to start our sessions with some basic portraits before cake time. It allows the child to get used to our process, the studio, the flashing lights, and maybe even find something they really enjoy to play with. With COVID-19, some of the toddlers have needed a little more time getting used to a new place (even more than usual stranger danger). But he was pretty ok with what we had set up for him! Getting messy wasn’t our favorite thing, but once we introduced the spoon tool he was happy to keep playing until it was bath time! And splashing around with the rubber ducks allowed for more photo opportunities (and smiles!).
