Twin Camping Cake Smash | Rocky Hill, CT
It seems like just yesterday these twins were here for their newborn photos and now they are turning 1 with a camping cake smash! I was so excited when their Mom contacted me to plan their next milestone. It is such an honor to watch my “kids” grow up year after year either for their birthday photos or for the holidays. In honor of their first names, doing something outdoors related was a must! And I had just the materials to do it with after getting a few more trees and a beautiful matching cake from Betty’s Cake Creations. The boys were a little shy at first and weren’t feeling their best (tip: try, if you can, to schedule any shots or doctors appointments for the following week after their photoshoot. But I know sometimes it’s tough to get in!). So we gave them some time to get settled before jumping (literally) into some portraits. They are just so cute together! I can’t believe they are so much bigger than they were as babies (and even cuter!)! We took some pictures together, played with toy cars and balloons, and then it was time for cake. After initial inspection, Forest decided that he wasn’t too keen on getting messy and having cake (he missed out!). Not feeling well on top of missing Mom made things too tough. But, we know how to work our magic! With the help of a family friend, we were able to coax him back for a few shots with his brother with the cake and again in the bath tub to clean up. I always tell parents, even when kids are having a tough day, all hope is not lost! We just need to do our best to give them multiple scenarios to fill out a nice gallery.
