Lavender Cake Smash | Newington, CT

It is such an honor for me when families not only come back for their baby’s first birthday cake smash, but have been coming to see me for multiple children in their family! It seems like just yesterday that baby Harper was here in my Newington, CT studio for her newborn photos. And Mom loved the lavender theme that we did so much, that she decided we should do a lavender cake smash too! And if you know me, you know that I LOVE anything purple! So this was really exciting for me to plan for them. And the big favorite thing this year with most girl-sessions has been FLORALS! Everyone wants to incorporate florals into their newborn or cake smash birthday themes this year! And that’s fine with me, because it gives a beautiful and timeless look to your photos! She came with such an adorable portrait outfit to start with and after warming up to me again for a little while and some balloon play, we were a-ok to move on to the cake smash! And she was definitely a fan of making a mess (even though she thought the frosting was super sweet!) and we had a blast sufficiently smashing the cake by hand and spoon! Tub time was another hit, and we loved splashing and playing with the ducks! Because we offer a 3-part schedule to our cake smash sessions, this really helps the little ones warm up to us and have fun in a variety of ways before they get too tired or cranky! We had a great time together and Mom had a great variety of images to print out for one of our new product, our “Favorites Box”, complete with gorgeous matted prints and corresponding digital files in a beautiful keepsake box!
