Mr ONEderful Cake Smash – West Hartford, CT Cake Smash Photographer
As soon as I had posted the last Mr ONEderful cake smash theme from a few weeks prior, someone was already requesting a variation of it for their child! And I don’t blame them – it’s a really cute first birthday theme for little boys! So I was excited to plan something similar but a little bit different for my next dapper client! I decided to utilize a balloon garland with similar colors to go with his outfit. Balloons garlands have become really popular as an option because you can really make some colorful combinations and they create the background all in of themselves! And of course, with a delicious cake to match from Betty’s Cake Creations, we had a beautiful set up ready for the next little man! Myles was SO CUTE! What a personality and adorable face! We started out with some pre-cake portraits that I like to use to warm up with the child and get them used to their surroundings. I can also use this time to understand more about them and what they like or how expressive of a child they might be. It can really make a difference for the rest of the shoot, so although it’s a shorter portion it’s a very important time together. And luckily, Myles was very ready for his portraits and as soon as I brought out Elmo I was his best friend! After some brief balloon play in the actual set, it was cake time! Now kids can feel differently about cake at age 1. Although he liked the taste, like some children, he didn’t like getting messy! If you think about it, we are usually wiping our children’s hands off all the time as babies, so some kids feel anxious when all of a sudden we are ok with them getting messy! It’s why I usually recommend some practice at home in advance. But even so, sometimes the kids just aren’t as into it! And that’s ok! Myles still gave us plenty of cute photos during his smash, and when it was time to clean off with a tub bath, he was happy baby again! So the purpose of these multi-segment sessions is really combine the best story overall! And he did so well for us! I can’t wait to see some of his beautiful photos in print for his parents to enjoy and hope to see them again later this year for more fun! Enjoy this cutie’s Mr ONEderful cake smash!
