Welcome baby Zhuri to the blog! This adorable little girl came to see me at my Newington, CT studio this past fall for a pink and gold cake smash to celebrate turning 1! Pink and gold for a cake smash theme has always been fairly popular for girls, and mom knew she wanted this decor as it matches the nursery. When she sent me pictures of what the nursery looks like, I asked my trusted baker at Betty’s Cake Creations to try and duplicate a crown for the top that was similar to one in the photo. It came out great, and mom was very happy with how the set looked! Little Miss Zhuri was a perfect model! She loved posing for the camera, laughing at silly things mom was doing behind me, playing peek-a-boo, and checking out all the confetti and flower petals I had on the ground. When it was time for her cake smash, she loved it! Sometimes, kids can be a little unsure about the texture of cake or the messy frosting on their hands. But Zhuri was in love! Having my trusty spoon was fun for her to play with also, and we had so many photos that after a short while it was already bath time! The tub bath is a great way to not only clean off some of that frosting, but also helps to capture a few more photos for their gallery at the end, especially if they aren’t as much of a cake fan. I’d say most parents end up with favorite photos during this part of the session and it definitely makes clean up much easier!
