Breech Baby Newborn Session | Farmington, CT
I had been planning Catalina’s newborn photography session with her mom for a few weeks at my Newington, CT studio, and everything was going as scheduled until a few days after she was born. Doctors told mom & dad that because she was born breech, and was positioned that way for a longer length of time, that a special brace was required to wear 24/7 for about 3 months to allow her hips to stretch out correctly. After some emotional phone calls, I eased their fears about having them still come see me for a breech baby newborn session. Although we weren’t going to be able to do some of the planned positions, it was so important that we document this special milestone for their family. Despite needing to wear an almost full body brace, I had a fellow colleague join me to assist in posing and wrapping her in the safest and most comfortable positions possible, and still having a wide variety of images for mom & dad to choose from. Catalina’s session was a bit more challenging, but we were determined to keep her happy throughout the session, and she slept almost the entire time! I hope these photos shows other parents who may find themselves in the same position that it is still possible to have plenty of beautiful posed images of their baby without compromising the use of the brace. Enjoy some of the images from her breech baby newborn session, and if you are expecting, don’t forget to book your due date in your 2nd or 3rd trimester to ensure availability!
