Family Photos w/ 3 Boys | Boston, MA
I was so sad when another one of my favorite families had moved away last year to Massachusetts. But then, I was contacted by them to see if I would be willing to meet them near the Boston, MA area to photography their family photos this year. And, they even added another boy to the mix. Family photos w/ 3 boys! Wow – this was going to be a fun challenge! But we were up for the task, and it was a nice roadtrip for my husband and I to take together in late September! We arrived at this beautifully well-known park in the area. I was shocked that it actually wasn’t in the city really, but close to residential neighborhoods. What I wouldn’t give to have a park like this near us here in Connecticut! The park was absolutely perfect for walking around with the kids, exploring different areas, and – my personal preference – had the ability to give us many different backgrounds for their photos. A bridge, a field (their personal favorite), walkways, and a neat stone building – we had it all! The boys were always ready to give me such great smiles…when I could catch them! Sometimes with young children and toddlers, you have to move quickly through the different scenarios to make sure you can get some great photos! I love what we were able to create for these family photos w/ 3 boys. Their large frame for the living room is going to look absolutely beautiful! I hope you enjoy some of their favorites below.

Beautiful Summer Family Photos | Newington, CT
Our connection to this family began last year, believe it or not. We had booked a session together for the end of October, and when a very full schedule and weather left us needing to cancel, I was so happy they waited to work together again in 2021! But weather was still not on our side! July 2021 came with rain…and LOTS of rain! For most of the month, every single day had measurable rain! And that doesn’t work well for trying to take beautiful summer family photos! But we were patient, and finally one evening we were treated to a lovely cloudy evening to meet. This blended family is absolutely precious! I love combining different ages with a great coordinated outfit palette. These guys were ready for photos! We walked at one of their favorite local spots taking photos along the way. We made sure to capture both photos all together as well as individual pictures of the children for Mom/StepMom to put in her frames. The kids really interacted well together and it was so sweet to watch them play and laugh as we ran through the grassy fields and up and down the hilly paths. It was a new location for me, and I always love exploring and seeing where we can find new areas to photograph! It was also nice to be fairly secluded here, and we only ran into a few walkers (of the 2 and 4-legged kind). The big kids were really great with the little ones especially twirling and chasing them as we tried to keep them busy during the late evening house. We had so many options for them to choose from! I can’t wait to see how this first picture will look nice a big in canvas in their entryway! For now, here are some of their favorite images (with so many more!). Be sure to contact us early about your next family session! Let me know which one was your favorite!

Landscape Nursery Family Photos | Cromwell, CT
Oh how we have loved watching this little one grow up the last 2 years! From before she was even born and in her Mommy’s tummy, we’ve been documenting all of the important milestones along the way. And as Mom has put it, “You just get addicted to professional photos!”. I’m so glad that they have trusted me with these moments. For her 2nd birthday, we decided on landscape nursery family photos that would mainly highlight the little Miss turning 2, but also incorporate some family photos, photos with each parent, and even had Grandma & Grandpa tag along too! Family sessions can be a great way to get the whole family involved, and with COVID-19 forcing many of us away from our parents/grandparents, this is a great time to reconnect. Now with little Miss being a bit on the shy side (and we know this!), finding a location that would keep her occupied enough to sneak in adorable photos was crucial. This is something that I talk about with clients a lot as I’m qualifying them for their session. It doesn’t just have to be at a location that might look pretty, but for many toddlers, having something to DO is just as important! Luckily, Grandpa was familiar with the landscape nursery in Cromwell and after asking permission from the owners, they allowed us to come shortly before opening time to walk around (carefully) and photograph their family! What an adorable facility! They primarily serve landscape contractors but happen to have a nursery on site as well. This was perfect for us as it was not crowded as a typical floral nursery would be, and being landscape contractors there were some great little spots mixed amongst their hardscapes and flowers to find. And as a professional photographer, it was my job to find them on the fly! We explored a number of great areas before it was time to walk around the nursery. Little Miss had a great time finding different colored flowers to point out to her parents and grandparents. We had some very sweet grandparent moments they the just loved when they saw the photos later! After many wagon ride requests from Grandpa and individual photos with Mom & Dad (and who could forget watching the ducks and frogs!), we had plenty of photos to choose from. Mom & Grandma were so happy going through the gallery virtually with me. Although it was a difficult choice, I helped them put together a story that was perfect to tell about this 2nd birthday milestone. I hope you enjoy some of the many favorites from their session! And don’t forget – a location can be perfect for any family as long as it’s something that works for your little ones! Contact us about your child’s next milestone!

Family Photos in Old Wethersfield, Connecticut
The beautiful fall sessions continue with this great group that came to see me for family photos in Old Wethersfield, Connecticut! I was fortunate enough to be connected with them last year during our annual Christmas sessions. This year, they decided to come back not only for Christmas sessions again for that great Christmas card, but for some outdoor fall photos too! Mom has been wanting outdoor photos together for some time, and I was so happy to give her something to cherish for years to come! Loving her town, we decided to meet in downtown Old Wethersfield which always brings the adorable charm especially during the fall season. This weekend happened to be the introduction of their annual Scarecrow decorating sidewalk so lots of people were enjoying the festivities! We utilized a lot of the beautiful historic buildings on the main road and even got lucky and were able to use the Webb Barn grounds after an event was wrapping up! Their gardens are always so beautiful any time of year and those were some of our favorite photos of the session! It was a lot of fun walking around Wethersfield, CT with this family and the brothers are just so sweet together! They have such great smilies and it definitely radiates through their images. We made to take plenty of options of the boy together and with their Mom & Dad separately! Here are some of their favorites below, and the first one became a beautiful canvas for their wall as well! I just love the purple door that is a pop of color with the fall wreath! Let me know some of your favorite images from our family photos in Old Wethersfield! I am looking forward to seeing this family again in November for our Gingerbread Village Christmas sessions for 2020!

Family Photos at Elizabeth Park | West Hartford, CT
Our fall season began officially at the beginning of October and as you’ll see by many other blog posts, it was a BUSY month! We are so thankful to be able to see so many of our favorite clients year after year for their milestones. This family was previous due to come see me in May when their youngest was born for newborn photos, but COVID-19 put a little damper on that! We were able to give them some composite images as part of our Coronavirus Newborn Project, but with things able to be done outside, we decided to meet for family photos at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford, CT. It was so nice to see them again and we were treated to a cool but beautiful morning at the park! I always love going here in the mornings when the crowds are low and the light is so pretty! Seeing their baby girl already so big was crazy! And big sister has grown up into quite the funny little lady too! I can’t believe it’s already been a few years since I did her newborn and birthday photos too! We had so much fun playing peek a boo, smelling the roses, exploring the gazebo, and snuggling with Mom & Dad! They both did such a great job and I love the photos we were able to to produce! Here are some of their many favorites below, and I can’t wait to pick something next for the wall!

Outside Family Photos | Glastonbury, CT
It seems like just yesterday I was meeting this family for their fall photoshoot. Next thing I know, it’s 4 years later and they’re looking to schedule again for some updated pictures! I can’t believe that it’s already been 4 years and boy have the kids grown up so much in that time! I think their youngest was only about 1 during our last photoshoot, and I really think the kids were in perfect ages to do another milestone session. Some families love to come every year for professional photos, while others like to wait a few years in between in order to have a longer and more detailed update. We went to a local open space area for their photos and it was a beautiful fall evening that was clearing as we went through time. The kids all did such a great job posing and smiling and we had a lot of fun exploring and sneaking in some puppet laughs in there too! Regular length sessions are really great for families that have multiple kids of different ages also because we have a little bit more flexibility to let each of them warm up, get re-acquainted with myself and my husband who joins to help with lighting, and just talk about what is new in their lives. It really improves the outcome of the photoshoot and we end up with a lot of variety. In the end, they chose to cherish these with an Heirloom Signature Album and corresponding digital files, which will give them a great combination of both quality images in print and keepsake digitals to make additional prints on their own for current frames they might have around their house. I can’t wait to see how beautiful everything looks when it comes in, and it was wonderful to see this family again! Enjoy looking at some of their many favorites below!
