Studio Newborn Photoshoot | Newington, CT
Typically we are planning for our clients’ studio newborn photoshoot well before baby arrives. It allows for time around the due date to be held in the calendar and parents know they are all set to plan with me prior to baby arriving. But sometimes, clients haven’t had the prior experience to book ahead of time, or maybe baby comes too early to think about it. So of course we always try to fit in our littlest clients into the schedule when we can! Such was the case when I heard from this sweet family who live just down the street from me Newington, CT studio! Apparently they walk by often and have always seen my sign outside, so when the time came they knew just who to call for this special milestone! How honored I was to be able to work together with this precious baby girl at just about 3 weeks new! She was such a cutie and posed with me so well! We even used a few new props just in time for Valentine’s Day! When it was time for family photos, having a big brother at an age to be able to hold and keep her safe was just so sweet! We had such a beautiful gallery for this family to have and they’ll not only have some digital files to keep safe, but a gorgeous heirloom Signature Album to be able to look through for always. Studio Maternity Portraits | Ashford, CT
This couple has always been on my favorite list of return families! We first met each other years ago for family photos with their (then 1, now 2) dogs and I can’t say that I always had secret hopes for a human baby in their mix would happen down the road too! Well much to my surprise and joy, they announced their pregnancy at the end of last year just in time for our annual Christmas photos together! So exciting!!! So of course we had to book their due date in the calendar and utilize our Annual Review Plan for multiple special photo shoots coming up! We started with their studio maternity portraits over the winter time and I just love having my studio as an option to not only be temperature controlled, but to be able to play with lighting and other techniques in comfort. To be able to try some new ideas with new fabric background colors was so exciting too! We had a great photoshoot together and how gorgeous does she look in her dress against the deep purple color?? We moved through a variety of poses and changed dresses in between to really give them a large variety to choose from. They were just perfect to contain in an heirloom Signature Album that they’ll be able to enjoy forever! I can’t wait to meet their baby boy this coming March, and be sure to contact us in your 2nd trimester to start planning for this special occasion!

Lumberjack Birthday Cake Smash | Tolland, CT
You might remember this little guy who first came to see us during our Christmas sessions at the end of last year. We had so much fun getting to know him and hoped that we’d get to see him again soon! Then his Mom reached out hoping to plan for his upcoming first birthday and I was so excited to have the chance to work together again! Soon after, we planned for a lumberjack birthday cake smash to celebrate in January. Mom & Dad loved my regular outdoor theme but also planned on dressing him in popular black and red plaid. So I knew that incorporating some props and items that I had from a past lumberjack cake smash theme would give just the right amount of color pop and I’m so glad we went with it! We did some adorable photos with Mom & Dad first just to get warmed up and remind him that this was a safe space and all was ok! A few toys appeared (thank goodness for having a bunch on hand!) and we were friends again! He loved his custom birthday set, especially the woodland animals and wood pieces we put on the floor for confetti! Getting messy was not a problem at ALL with such a yummy and smushable cake from The Kakery! And how about a little tub bath to finish cleaning up afterwards? We had such a great gallery to present to his parents and there were so many to choose from! It was great to see this family again and I can’t wait to work together again for another milestone, family session, or holiday photos!

Fairy Woodland Cake Smash | Glastonbury, CT
One of the great things about working with my studio is that everything is customized from the start! So when it comes to your child or family’s photoshoot, we work together to come up with something that works best for you and your desires. This family reached out to me before the holidays hoping to plan for their daughter’s first birthday in January. Initially they really wanted some simply family and individual photos of their daughter. I explained how popular my cake smash sessions were – not really for the cake eating part – but for how many things that we do during this session to showcase their growing development and keep them interested for a typical 45 minute session. So we ended up combining these simple portraits they were hoping for with a cute custom scene (and a watermelon cake they made that they wanted to try) to really make something special. They chose a combination of a few of my themes into a fairy woodland cake smash design and it really came out adorable! She seemed very proud of her parents (and of course they were of her!) and loved flashing us plenty of smiles throughout. We played balloon, with some different props, and of course had to try some of that watermelon cake too! Even bath time was fun! In the end, they had a beautiful gallery of their child to enjoy to celebrate turing

Christmas Baby Newborn Photos | West Hartford, CT
Sometimes, littles ones just can’t wait to meet The Flash Lady! Often times when we book late December newborns they decide to make their appearance as an early Christmas gift! Such was the case with these Christmas baby newborn photos! Little man decided to arrive the week prior, and his parents reached out hoping that I might be willing to sneak them in right after the holidays. And I just can’t miss out on seeing another cutie pie in the studio for these precious memories! So we planned for them to arrive right after Christmas weekend and planned for a neutral color palette. Mom & Grandma came with this precious baby boy while Daddy was at work (hopefully we’ll get some family photos in another time!). They were amazed at the quality of my session and how careful I am with these little babies. Especially because, this little one only weighed about 5lbs! We worked through my poses and, as long as he had a full belly, he was happy to snooze the morning away! We were able to even use one of my new props, and with being born right around Christmas, I couldn’t help but give them some special Christmas photos as well. Just a little magic that you’ll receive when you work with my photography studio! He had such a beautiful gallery, and his family is going to love seeing these images every day in both digital and print formats. And, his Mom & Dad decided later to upgrade to my Annual Review Plan too! So they’ll have 2 other beautiful milestones to celebrate together and memories to have captured. Artistic Studio Maternity Photography | Manchester, CT
I cannot say enough amazing things about this gorgeous these photos are! I was happy to speak with this couple about artistic studio maternity photography and how we could help them not only with beautiful photos as they await the arrival of their little one, but newborn and other milestones after they are born as well! Our Annual Review Plan is very popular for giving clients multiple milestones in baby’s first year, and that often begins with the maternity session. I love being able to work primarily in my studio (although we’ll do on location as well seasonally) where I can use light in many different ways along with beautiful backgrounds and of course staging it based on what the Mom decides to wear for the special occasion. I happened to have a balloon garland saved from a personal celebration here and before I discarded it, I thought it might be nice to put up and try as a background for my clients. They really loved the idea and it came out great! Mom’s dress was so beautiful and of course a beautiful queen needs a crown! I can’t wait to meet this little one later this winter as her parents were so nice to get to know! We typically plan for maternity photos around 30-34 weeks depending on how you are showing and what # pregnancy, and then schedule your due date as well for those that are hoping for newborn photography.
