Korean Newborn Photos | Newington, CT
I couldn’t have been more excited for this little one to arrive! His mom had been following me for a while, and when they were pregnant and searching for a photographer, I was so honored they chose me to capture all of their milestones! It started in the early spring with their maternity portraits in studio. What a beautiful series we created with those and I’m so happy they loved what they brought home! But now it was time for their little one’s newborn portraits. And he was just the cutest little thing! He slept the entire morning without so much as a peep. We utilized a wide variety of props, outfits, and wraps from my extensive collection as well as some personal items Mom brought from home such as a little Chiefs jersey (her dad’s favorite team) and family photos. I was so happy to work on these Korean newborn photos for such a special family of beautiful family origin, and be able to produce a gorgeous heirloom Legacy Box and corresponding digital files for them to enjoy for years to come. I’ve had such joy getting to know and work with their family, who have also utilized our popular Annual Review Plan, and I can’t wait to see them again for his first birthday Dol or cake smash session, and our popular Christmas sessions! Purple Floral Cake Smash | Marlborough, CT
It’s always such an honor for me to watch families grow up and add on. Baby Willow was child #2 that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing, and her newborn photoshoot was so gorgeous and utilized a lot of florals! So for her first birthday cake smash, her Mom was excited to continue to use florals and had loved one of my older purple floral cake smash designs from the past! So as I typically do with most designs, if it’s been a little while, I love to update them! So it was a lot of fun looking for alternate props and supplies and new flowers to incorporate into her session! Willow loved playing with my flowers and gold rose petals! It was adorable to watch her smile and even bat a balloon around for a little while too! Cake time was a hit! What a beautiful cake from Betty’s Cake Creations we had and we just couldn’t hold her back – she was ready to dive in as soon as Mom put her in front of it! She LOVED the taste of the frosting and even wanted to check out how the actual cake tasted too! Some babies are a little bit different at this stage and it really depends on how much experience they’ve had with solid foods up to this point. Most are perfectly happy chowing down on the frosting only, but some want it all! Willow definitely was happy to eat everything, but we always make sure to take plenty of water breaks and watch that she’s not eating too much at one time. As always, safety and comfort is #1 at The Flash Lady Photography! Our spoon tool was another big hit and she loved playing with it and figuring out how to eat more cake too! After a quick bath with some bubbles and more smiles, it was time to clean up! What a wonderful first birthday cake smash session that we had. I love watching my babies grow up year after year, and I can’t wait to continue to see them get older and interact together as a family. These images turned out beautifully in our custom Legacy Box with corresponding digital files (a great keepsake with those beautiful prints!). They also had me order some matching wood blocks from each of her and her brother’s cake smash sessions to add to their wall art display. What great memories they will have! Ella | 4th of July Cake Smash | Newington, CT Cake Smash Photographer
Another one of my babies has turned one and what a better way to celebrate during the month of July than with a 4th of July cake smash! It seems like just yesterday that she was in my Newington, CT photography studio for her newborn photos and in the blink of an eye she’s back for some cake-eating fun! With a July birthday, it was only fitting to plan something around our Independence day, and when I saw the absolutely adorable dress that Mom had already picked out for the photoshoot, I couldn’t wait to start planning! We decided on a more rustic, Americana theme for her cake smash and even used antique collectible bears from Ella’s grandmother! I just love how her set came together and Ella clearly did too! As soon as we put her down she was immediately interested in my poppy flowers, which kept her occupied and happy! Then it was time for cake, and let me just say she was an expert smasher! I typically recommend that parents actually “practice” with either cake, whipped cream, or shaving cream at home before coming to their photoshoot just to get used to the feeling of frosting and mess on their hands and feet. You wouldn’t believe that kids can be a little OCD too when we as parents are constantly wiping their hands and face for them all of the time! So it definitely helps a lot, especially if kids have also had some experience with finger paints and messy play. So don’t be afraid of it, because it really helps out during their cake smash! Ella LOVED smashing her cake so much so that we eventually had to stop because I knew that we had so many amazing photos already! Tub time wasn’t as much fun for her – sometimes that happens! And that’s why sessions are split into 3 short parts to make sure that we have time to do something the child enjoys and still have a full gallery if they don’t like the other parts.
