Preemie Newborn Photos | Middletown, CT
Elliott visited me a few weeks ago as the first preemie newborn in my studio! This little guy has had quite the journey with his parents, but as a fellow preemie myself, I know he is tough! Elliott was born a twin at 26 weeks along with his sister, Tate. It was very unexpected and scary for everyone involved. Despite the best efforts and medical technology today, Tate passed away 24 days later. 🙁 After 3 months in the hospital, Elliott came home a happy and healthy 5lb. 10 ounce baby boy! For his newborn session, mom and dad wanted me to commemorate Tate somehow and to do so I had a pink teddy bear made by Crocheted4Angels Handmade Items that we tucked into a few photos with Elliott and so they had a keepsake from the session to take home. Photographing preemies can be much more difficult as they lose their “womb memory” in their limbs and can make posing harder or not possible to do. The advantage however is their skin is AMAZING! Elliott also was having some tummy trouble and liked being snuggled in a prop much better, so that’s what we did! They are a beautiful family and I am so glad that I got to meet them and get to know their story. I hope to see this little guy again in the future!
