Emmett | Little Firecracker Cake Smash | Middletown, CT

Another of my summer babies is turning one, already!! Emmett is baby #2 that I’ve had the honor to photograph from this beautiful family, and it seems like just yesterday he was here for his newborn photography photoshoot! When his mom contacted me, she immediately asked for a little firecracker cake smash theme to go with his spunky personality! And with his birthday being so close to July 4th, I couldn’t wait to plan for this one! We decided to utilize a balloon garland, which has become a very popular option for both my custom birthday set ups and my unique confetti sessions for older children too! They wanted more of a red, white, and blue color scheme focus vs. American flags, so this was going to be the perfect way to create a great background! I even found some pics that looked just like fireworks so we figured out how to stand them up underneath the garland and I love how this look came together! With a yummy cake from Betty’s Cake Creations, the set was complete! Emmett was a little shy at first, but once we brought out some balloons to play with he was all smiles! He loved playing with the wooden spoon and by the end he made quite the mess! Good thing we end our cake smash photoshoot with a nice tub bath to wash off all that frosting! And he loved playing with the rubber duckies and laughed as I played peek-a-book behind the camera. We had such a fun first birthday photo session and I can’t wait to watch these two handsome boys as they grow up! Don’t forget!
