Engagement Photos | Simsbury, CT

Last weekend we met with Brooke and Matt for their engagement photos at the Drake Hill Flower Bridge in Simsbury, CT. This has to be one of my favorite sessions to date! I had been speaking with Brooke for the last few weeks about setting up a session, as they had not originally added engagement photos to their wedding package with their current photographer. I was so happy to be able to step in for this special part of their pre-wedding preparation and take photos that I hope they will treasure forever! The Drake Hill Flower Bridge is famous for the gorgeous flowers that volunteers spend hours keeping up with during the year. Unfortunately, with a hard frost coming through Connecticut the previous week, there were no flowers left and the boxes had been cleaned out. BUT that didn’t take away from the charm of this location! The turquoise color of the bridge frame popped so nicely against the colors of the fall foliage in the background. We found some amazing texture in a small field next to the bridge and the frost still on the ground in the early morning really made for a different type of backdrop. The leaves were still giving some really nice color and with the rising sun provided a stunning rim light on Brooke’s gorgeous hair! See for yourself!
