Indoor Family Portraits | Middletown, CT

When family members are home, usually around the holidays or school vacations, it’s a great time to get together for updated family photographs. Sometimes, the weather isn’t always ideal and typically in New England that’s from about November-early April! That’s a long time to be cooped up indoors without a pretty landscape outside to take photos. But don’t fret! Indoor family portraits are just as lovely, and with the right lighting and furniture placement we can create beautiful and personal photos for you to enjoy and update those collage walls! 🙂 I met with the Abong’o Family this past winter for some updated wall photos while their daughter was home and after they had just done some home renovating. What a great time to add some beautiful new photos to those freshly painted walls! We took formal photos in many combinations but they also wanted to focus some of the session on their aging dog, Buddy. Buddy was pretty sleepy most of the time, but we were still able to capture some adorable photos of him snoozing away. After formals, I always love to get families in more of a lifestyle setting looking through old photo albums together. I find this is a great way to encourage interaction and genuine laughter as they reminisce about past events. These photos are almost always edited in black and white to give more of a photojournalistic and heirloom feel. At their Design & Ordering appointment, we put together a wall collage of 11×14 and 8×10 framed pieces (5 of them) which would fit a smaller area above their dining buffet. Putting some smaller framed pieces together can still give a great accent above a piece of furniture with the additional sizing the mat and frame itself will add. They were beautiful when they arrived and I was so happy to hand them over for them to hang and enjoy!
