Fall is always such a popular time to photograph families in New England! Everyone hopes for the beautiful foliage, pleasing temperatures, and the change of the season. I love being able to offer my client fall family photos each year as a “thank you” to my wonderful customers that have invested with me (sometimes annually!). These shorter sessions are a great way for families to get some updated photos together especially if they’ve seen me earlier in the year for other milestones that didn’t include family portraits at the time. Kids love to get outside and explore new places, so I try to pick locations that are interesting, have nice lighting, and give the families some different backgrounds and options to choose from when selecting their favorite photographs. We were treated to a gorgeous (but chilly!) mid-October morning for our family session day. This is pretty typical for Connecticut to dip into near-freezing temperatures for the first time in October, but it’s hard to know when that’s going to happen. Still, the absolutely beautiful morning light and fall color combination gave us a perfect backdrop for the day! I was so pleased with how well everyone coordinated their outfits too! I always try to send suggestions in advance because coordinating outfits really is crucial for making family photos look amazing! The red bridge in the background just added that special element to one of their portraits that I think will be perfect for Christmas cards!
