Garafalo Sisters | Saville Dam, CT
One of the sweetest things I’m able to do as a photographer is help someone surprise a family member with the gift of quality professional photos! I realize the older that I get, the more value that I have on experiences and memories rather than material things. The great thing about photography is that it can last for generations! I met up with the Garafalo sisters last month to surprise their mom by having photos taken together for her birthday. They actually suggested a location I had never been to before so it was exciting to see what we could come up with here. We traveled to the Saville Dam in Barkhamstead, CT. The clouds were increasing as we arrived and we knew it was only a matter of time before it started raining. Amazingly, as the clouds came together in combination with the setting sun, it created this brief but amazing checkerboard pattern of clouds over the water that I captured before it was gone. We had a fun time exploring the area and found some hidden areas to pose just across the road. I hope you enjoy some of the images from their family session!
