2nd Birthday Photos at Rockwell Park | Bristol, CT

I adore these birthday photos! As I discussed in my previous blog post, I take each of my sessions very personally and work extremely hard to make my clients feel like extensions of my own family. Never is this more true as with my next session to highlight – my little buddy Milo. I’ve known Milo and his parents since shortly after he was born, when he and his mom would attend a support group run through the UConn Health Center that my daughter and I attended as well (Moms Morning Out). This is an excellent program run through the Nurturing Families Network at the hospital, which provides free support programs for expecting and new parents. The Moms Morning Out program runs through the baby’s first year, and any new moms are welcome and encouraged to attend. This was a lifesaver, and we have been fortunate to form many parent connections through this program as a result!

Milo has a genetic disorder that makes it difficult for his body to process fat correctly. He had a difficult, and at times scary, first year and now as we near his second birthday, he is thriving with the right medication, therapy, and LOTS of love! A recent, major milestone has been standing on his own, and I was able to photograph this feat during our recent photo session! We decided to take his 2nd birthday photos at Rockwell Park, Bristol, CT and what a GEM of a location! HUGE playground, walking trails, stone steps and benches, old stone buildings, and a nature boardwalk! Milo was a big fan of the nature boardwalk and brightened right up when he listened to all of the birds chirping and frogs croaking. We made it through the session just as it started to downpour at the end, but Milo was a trooper through it all!
