Birthday Cake Smash | Manchester, CT
Last month we were contacted by a Mom who was hoping I might have an opening to squeeze in her daughter’s birthday cake smash before the holidays. And I was happy to help them! Cake smashes are one of my specialties, and I love being able to celebrate this special milestone, their development over this past year, and who doesn’t love cake?! But funny enough, most people think that cake smashes are just about feeding the children cake. It’s really a combination of doing different developmentally appropriate activities to keep these all of a sudden active little ones engaged, and hopefully giving us some adorable looks as well! Most of the time, babies really aren’t eating that much cake (if any)! We just make it look that way. So don’t let a little sugar deter you from this fun celebration – I promise there is a method to our madness! So I couldn’t wait to photograph this cutie who was all smilies as soon as she arrived! We utilized one of our newer bed scenes to go with her adorable outfit and she loved playing with one of my teddy bear props and laughing at the silly things that Mom was doing behind me! Next we moved on to her actual birthday scene, which was a beautiful combination of florals and farmhouse and bohemian textures. She loved playing balloon, showing us how she could stand, and of course, eating cake! Thank goodness for a tub bath to clean off all of that mess at the end of the session! We had such a great session together, and they looked just beautiful in their chosen Legacy Box and Standout wall art piece for their home.
