Korean Dol First Birthday Photos | West Hartford, CT

You might recognize this cute little man from his camping cake smash with me just a few posts prior to this! After planning such a fun session together, his Mom & Dad were hoping to also plan for his Korean Dol first birthday photos as well! This is a special event in their culture where they put up a series of specific props and banners along with a selections of symbolic items, and see which one the baby goes to first! This is supposed to signify what he might like or do for a career when he gets older! I loved planning this photoshoot because I’ve never experienced this before and I am always interested in learning more about each family’s unique traditions! His Mom visited my studio the week of his photoshoot and together with items she brought from home and some of my own props that I thought could be useful, we created a scene for him that looked so amazing the day of next to his special outfit! Now as I’m sure you recognized in his last photoshoot, this little guy is ready to explore the world! He carefully investigated the items that his Mom brought (and played some games with knocking them over too!) and then it was time to see what items he’d like to choose! They were all so pretty and enticing, but I think in the end the colorful scrolls were technically when he chose first! I really enjoyed helping them plan for such a special time and that they have so many beautiful photos for 2 photoshoots together to enjoy!
