Patriotic Cake Smash | Berlin, CT

Last Monday we celebrated Miss Lily’s actual first birthday with a session dedicated to a patriotic cake smash! When her parents originally contacted me looking for something patriotic to go along with her birthday being close to 4th of July, I was overjoyed! One of my favorite things about working with one year olds is being able to create a unique, custom design to celebrate their birthday and let them smash some cake! I don’t mind purchasing special props or banners that I don’t already have to make a photo session unique and special! We created my absolutely favorite set to date and combined with an amazing cupcake from Betty’s Cake Creations we really made something special! Before we dove into the cake, we took a few pre-cake photos and Lily loved holding on to the flag props I had. She was a great model and gave us plenty of smiles! When it was time for cake, at first she wasn’t sure if her parents really wanted her to eat it. But once mom helped break the cake apart and let her try it we had a perfect cake smash!
