Our Studio: Serving Families Across Connecticut
My newly renovated Newington, Connecticut, studio was designed to feel both comfortable and inspiring. It is a warm, bright, and fully equipped space where clients can relax and every detail has been thought through so you can focus on enjoying the experience.
After years of dreaming, I finally have a space that feels like me, warm, bright, and flexible for every type of session, including newborns and cake smash, maternity, families, headshots, Christmas mini sessions, and everything in between.
Inside the Studio
The studio features cathedral-style ceilings and natural light that fills the room and creates a bright, airy atmosphere.
There is a private vanity for hair and makeup, a dedicated changing area, comfortable seating, and a mini fridge stocked with drinks and snacks. Music plays softly through a built-in Bluetooth sound system, which helps little ones relax and keeps the energy light for everyone.
For hair and makeup, I work closely with KiSSandMaKeUp nearby and am happy to help coordinate that as part of your session prep.
Clients often tell me it feels like visiting a friend’s home, except with great lighting and a lot of camera gear!
Designed for Versatility
With nearly double the shooting space of my previous studio, I can accommodate larger family groups, multiple headshot clients, and more creative setups. The space works equally well for classic backdrops and lifestyle-inspired portraits that take advantage of the natural light and architectural details of the studio itself.
A Better Studio Experience
A lot has changed since I started The Flash Lady Photography in 2010 and the evolution of this space signifies how far the business has come.
With this studio I am able to offer a higher level of experience to every client who walks through the door. More space, better light, and a fully equipped environment provide better sessions and better images.
Outdoor & On-Location Sessions
While my Newington studio is home base for most of my sessions, I am happy to take things on the road when the situation calls for it. Outdoor and on-location sessions are a great fit for families who want a natural backdrop, seniors looking for something more personal and expressive, and businesses that need headshots done on-site for a larger team.
What to Expect On Location
On-location sessions open up a different set of creative possibilities. We’ll work together ahead of time to choose a location that fits the look you’re going for, and I’ll factor in timing, lighting conditions, and accessibility when helping you plan. Weather is always a variable, so I build flexibility into the scheduling process.
In-Home Sessions
The familiar environment of home puts everyone at ease, especially with the details of your space adding a layer of context and personality to your images. I bring everything needed and work with the natural light and layout of your home to get the best possible results. These sessions are especially popular for newborns and young families.
Bringing the Session to You
In-home sessions are a wonderful option for a relaxed, lifestyle-style experience in your own space. Keep in mind that the props, setups, and posing options available in the studio are not all replicable on location, so the approach and pricing for these sessions differ accordingly. We will talk through what works best for your space and your vision during our planning call.
