Intimate Wedding at The Simsbury 1820 House | Simsbury, CT

I am always extremely thankful when other clients refer me to their friends when they come across a photography need! After working with one of my cake smash clients, his personal training client was in need of a wedding photographer for only a few weeks later and sent him my way to see if I could help. I met soon after with Louis & Damary, who were planning an intimate wedding at The Simsbury 1820 House with a few close family and friends and were hoping to have a professional photographer capture the earlier parts of the day. What a perfect location! This was my first time and this quaint venue and they really have a perfect set up for couples looking for a more intimate wedding experience. We visited the bride in her suite (a gorgeous room) and photographed details of her attire and her getting ready with her Mom and daughter before heading to the main house to meet the groom and some of the guests. It was so nice to be able to talk to everyone there and listen to how they played a special role in the joining of these two people. Their ceremony was held right in front of the main house under a pair of beautiful trees on a gorgeous spring afternoon as the sun was peeking behind the roofline. Their love for each other was more than apparent and there were many happy tears throughout the ceremony, formals, and the reading of their letters to each other. After formals, we snuck over to the Drake Hill Flower Bridge – which is just bursting with color this time of year – for more private formals with just the bride and groom. I love how much color they have in the background of every photo and we had a lot of fun capturing their happiness in the late afternoon sun. We returned to the venue and I photographed in their small banquet room while a slideshow of photos of the couple played in the background. A toast was given by their son, and they sat down to enjoy their dinner and the rest of the evening. Enjoy some of the many beautiful photos of their wedding day! Congratulations Louis & Damary!
