Strawberry Cake Smash | Portland, CT

What a sweet first birthday photo session we had last month! It may have been September, but Mom & Dad chose this adorable strawberry cake smash theme as the highlight for their little girl’s photos! I love some of the props I was able to find and put together to make this set up a hit! Everyone was excited with how it came out and Mabel just loved holding some of her little plush strawberries she brought with her! We started out with some pre-cake portraits first (because sometimes kids aren’t as much of a fan of the cake later!). This is a great way to get some smiles and play with the set props. Mabel had some of the cutest expressions and I love being able to show all of them to parents later in their final galleries! When it was cake time, she LOVED the frosting! And how could you not with a yummy matching cake from Betty’s Cake Creations?! We added a fun wooden spoon towards the end which has been a favorite prop of a lot of one year olds lately. It really helps give them an additional tool to prolong the session and it’s always so funny to see how each child decides to hold it! When cake time was over, it was time for a quick tub bath! This is a great way to get a few extra smiles as well as clean off all of that frosting before it’s time to change and head home for a nap!
