Lifestyle Maternity Photography | West Hartford, CT

Having maternity photos taken is a great way to begin the story of your journey to parenthood. My preferred method as a storyteller is a lifestyle maternity photography session. While portraits are still taken, this is a more intimate look at both parents and their preparations for planning for their new baby to arrive! These are typically done in the client’s home and I love capturing their unique details, the nursery, sentimental gifts they may have received, and how their home will look once their baby is here. Laura & Edwin were great, and they really enjoyed looking through the keepsake album of ultrasound photos together, sitting on their porch, and showing me the nursery (which is adorable!). It’s clear this child is going to be so loved and I hope they can look back on these photos and see how excited their parents were for them to join them! A lifestyle maternity photography session also allows parents, especially Mom, to wear whatever outfit is comfortable for them and their style. I think this will create a very timeless look they can display and enjoy for years to come! Using their images, Laura & Edwin purchased a few wall art pieces to start a staircase collage that they will add to once I continue with their newborn photos in just another month from now! Maternity sessions are best done in around the 28-32 week range depending on how you are showing/feeling. It’s also a great time to book your newborn photo shoot for after the baby is born to ensure availability. I have 2 session options for maternity and newborn photos as well. *Baby Eliana was born about 6 weeks after this session took place and she had a beautiful newborn session at my Newington, CT photography studio!
