Space Cake Smash | Avon, CT

Clients know me well for my creative and custom designs for children. Whether it be my first birthday cake smash, paint smash for ages 2+, or NEW glitter sessions for ages 4+, people know that I will put together something amazing for their family to enjoy for years to come! Such is the case with another new space cake smash theme I put together for the McCabe Twins. You might remember these cuties from their beautiful family session at Elizabeth Park over the summer. So they came back to celebrate their birthday! When Mom said she was hoping for an astronomy or space theme I was very excited to take on the challenge! We ended up deciding to design a set where the kids would be looking up at space. Thankfully, my backdrop vendor had something exactly that I needed and with some cut outs, props, and 2 adorable cakes by Betty’s Cake Creations, we had something amazing! We started out with an inflatable pool float that looked like the space shuttle I had found and it was just big enough to fit them both for a few photos! They had a lot of fun riding the float and taking some other “clean” pre-cake pictures together. At cake time, once they realized how good the cake was they just kept eating! Brother wasn’t as much of a fan of frosting sticking to his hands after some time, while Sister enjoyed using her spoon to scoop as much cake as she could! We had a quick bath, with some silly expressions and sponge sharing, and it was time to go! I love that they will be able to cherish an heirloom album, some high resolution digital files, and prints from their session and look forward to our next experience together! Enjoy!
