Birthday Beach Photos | Hammonassett Beach, CT

These sessions are always so special to me because they involve a very special friend of my daughter’s who has come so far in the last year! Milo was diagnosed soon after birth with a genetic disorder called Abetalipoproteinemia. In simple terms, his body can’t process fat correctly and he was a pretty sick little boy at birth and soon after. Getting diagnosed and his system on track meant he hit some milestones a little later than other kids his age, but this year he has zoomed ahead with some pretty fantastic strides! Early this spring he started walking (which I was there to witness his first steps!) and now a few months later he is RUNNING! So fast in fact, that I had trouble keeping up with him during our session for his 3rd birthday beach photos! We decided to meet at Meigs Point in Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT. It’s a great part of the shoreline with trails to walk, lots of shells and huge rocks to sit under! Milo had plenty of tickle time with Dad and checking out a random formation of rocks that we found. It was a bit windy that morning also and I love how windswept his photos came out! He wasn’t for looking at the camera as much this time, but sometimes with certain ages it’s better to focus on more of a lifestyle style of photography for the best results.
