Winter Baby Newborn Photos | Southington, CT
Our Newington, CT photography studio is filled with a wide variety of props, outfits, wraps, and backgrounds in order to plan for each newborn photoshoot that takes place. Each year, I make new purchases to grow our variety and allow for true customization. When this family booked their winter baby newborn photos, I had just received a brand new headband set and some winter props that I was so excited to use with her. That, along with some Photoshop art and editing, I was able to create some truly beautiful heirlooms for her parents to enjoy and remember this special time. She was such a precious baby girl and slept the morning away while I very carefully posed her in a variety of positions that were comfortable and developmentally appropriate. She even gave us a few smiles! Her parents were so in love with her, and their family photos together were proud and bright-eyed, even though the tiredness from lack of sleep that most face at this stage. I loved being able to provide this family with beautiful photos from their newborn photography session. They didn’t have to worry about a thing except bringing themselves to my set-up and climate-controlled studio for their close-ups. Don’t forget to schedule your due dates in your second trimester for the best availability, especially if you plan for maternity photos as well!

1st Birthday Milestone Photos | Newington, CT
You may remember this adorable smiling baby boy from his time with us during our Santa Experience photos this past November at our Newington, CT photography studio! What a cutie he was and I was so excited when his mother contacted me about coming back for his first birthday portraits. Now although cake smashes are our speciality, sometimes parents love to use this time to get some photos with their child together. We planned for his 1st birthday milestone photos to not only photograph him alone but spending quality time with his Mom too! I set up a number of simple scenes and we played (the snowballs were especially popular and made us laugh so much!), and explored my studio while taking so many sweet photos! He also really loved my comfortable bed scene and got plenty of tickles in from Mom. She really loved to see him laugh! We try to capture their growing development when possible by allowing them to reach for things, crawl, stand, and even walk if they are ready. Mom really was hoping for a photo of her “helping” him to walk as he is so close to doing so! We really enjoyed our time at my studio capturing this special 1st birthday milestone and give them quality photographs to remember this birthday by. I look forward to seeing this little guy grow up and photographing him again! 3rd Birthday Studio Portraits | Newington, CT
If you remember this adorable young lady, you will be just as shocked as I am that she was already at my Newington, CT photography studio for her 3rd birthday studio portraits?! It seems like just yesterday that she was here with her Mom for her newborn photos, just sleeping the morning away. Although they have since moved out of state, we have been so happy to see them back at the studio almost every year to celebrate her birthday and update those photos! This time Mom chose our pink pumpkin theme, which is one of my favorites for the fall! We also utilized some bohemian style with a second background to give them another look. With her love of bubbles and girls things, we gave her Mom and great gallery to choose from and some beautiful frames to add to the gallery wall. In addition to updated portraits for Little Miss, Mom had also asked if she could book professional headshots while they were here as well. She had never had anything well done before and was hoping for something simple to use for social media profiles and workshop/meeting marketing in her role as a Regional Manager. I was so happy to help them with both of these genres and give her some great options to use for her marketing needs. Dr Newborn Photos | Windsor, CT
Clients often ask how soon they should book their due dates once they find out they are pregnant. Now of course this can be any time the couple is comfortable, but ideally by the 2nd trimester, especially if they are also hoping for maternity photos. In some cases, profession or schedule conflicts are a big reasons for getting in the calendar early. Often I work with those in the medical or education fields who want to make sure they have everything coordinated well in advance if they only have a certain amount of time off. I was contacted by this beautiful family about scheduling Doctor-themed newborn photos because, you guessed it, both parents are doctors! I knew that I had to make this themed in some way to highlight that, and was able to order a custom outfit to use during their photoshoot – they loved it! This little baby boy arrived with a full head of hair and definitely wanted to check out what was going on in the world at my Newington, CT studio. But once I got him cozy and off to sleep, we were able to do so many great poses with him, including a variety of outfits and incorporating some fall items as well. Big sister was totally ready to show us how proud she was of her baby brought, and their sibling and family photos were just so precious! It made me so happy to design and custom order a gorgeous frame and album (along with digital files) for this family to enjoy in their home. Gifted Newborn Photos | West Hartford, CT
Even better than planning for families to grow with me are when they are gifted newborn photos! I had been in contact with the grandparents since the summer time and they really wanted to gift their daughter and son-in-law a newborn session. What a wonderful thing to do! And it’s something that we always recommend to our expecting clients, especially for baby showers and sprinkles. We offer both e-gift cards and paper certificates, so there are plenty of ways to share the gift of a professional photoshoot with your loved ones from near or afar. Some family members will purchase only the session fee amount, others will combine with others to gift a higher amount they can use for both the session and subsequent photos or products. Either way, it’s a wonderful option! This little guy came into my Newington, CT newborn photography studio ready to snooze and snuggle the morning away. I couldn’t be happier to oblige as we utilized a number of different poses and props. We even put something special together for their Christmas cards to send out later in the year! I love their families photos together and you can just see the joy and love their have for this new part of their family. I like to photograph my clients both in color and black and white to focus on some of those special moments.
