Purple Confetti Photoshoot | Southington, CT
Did you know that birthday sessions don’t just stop with children because they turn 1?! Right?? A lot of clients stop celebrating the milestone and the truth is that the kids grow up and become little people! So what better way to capture them as they grow than with other types of birthday celebrations? This family has done them all, and I’ve loved every minute of seeing them grow up and add to the family. We met up again at my Newington, CT photography studio this time for a purple confetti photoshoot. Confetti??? Well it’s one of our hit sessions! Kids love to get messy (for the most part) if we show them that it’s fun and doesn’t hurt and in this case, it’s not even something that has to be washed off! We use Mylar confetti which not only photographs so beautifully, but it’s much easier to clean off the child (and my studio eventually haha). We can also use real confetti and not have to rely on overlays and fake computer generated shots. This way we get the REAL joy, real reactions, and real moments that you’ll look back on and love! Family Christmas Photos 2021 | Newington, CT
Another year of our Family Christmas Photos 2021! This was our 7th year of creating magic for our children and families…without Santa Claus! For some, their children are at a timid age, they’d just prefer more time together as a family, or maybe they’ve “aged out” of the magic of Santa! Regardless, we always have a place for you here on our Family Day! It’s a great way to get together for that special Christmas card, enjoy a beautiful custom made set, and we still bring just as much magic for this day too! We saw 22 beautiful families for these slightly longer sessions. Have a pet? We allow you to bring them too during certain afternoon time slots! Always so much fun to see our pet parents and their families together and some of our favorite doggies that come to visit us! Just as with our Santa Experience day, watching my kids grow up and seeing them every year for Christmas is so heartwarming! But there are only so many spots available, and we had SO many requests that we probably could have filled another day! That’s why it’s a good time to get on our newsletter list and follow us on social media as those people get first dibs on our spots every year when we beginning booking at the end of the summer! Times fill faster and faster every year – I think we had 2 days filled in just a few days! (And most within hours) Book early! And we’ll see you next year for the next great Holiday Experience!

Hot Air Balloon Cake Smash | West Hartford, CT
After a year of COVID adjustments, we were finally able to get this little cutie in the studio for her OWN photoshoot! She was all scheduled to come see me for her newborn photos when COVID shut us down too long to be able to do them. You might remember that instead, we met for family photos with everyone in the fall. It was a great compromise, but it was time! And I can’t believe she’s already 1 and it was time for her first birthday cake smash! We decided to plan around a new backdrop that I had ordered and designed a hot air balloon cake smash. Mom loved the colors and even though it was on the simpler side, sometimes that’s just what is needed to make everything else stand out! And with all of the smiles that she gave us, it was just the right thing! We started out with some simple portraits before the cake smash, which always helps the kids warm up. She loved playing with the balloons and it was so hard to pick which smiles were our favorites! At cake time, we dived right in and loved all of the little decorations that Betty’s Cake Creations put onto it. We only wanted to get messy so far though – but luckily there was time for a fun bath with more smiles and adorable photos before the shoot was over! We loved what we created during this little one’s first birthday cake smash. We have many different ways to celebrate a birthday for your child no matter their age that allows them to have fun and most of the time, get messy! Sibling Confetti Photoshoot | Broad Brook, CT
Sometimes parents contact me looking for something different! Don’t you want to have photos that are as unique as your kids are? And FUN? Well you’ve come to the right place! This Mom was intrigued by my confetti & balloon sessions and wanted to know more about them. They are a great option for typically ages 3+ and the older they are, the better they’ll be able to developmentally handle the task without help from Mom & Dad. But I’ve done them as young as two years old and it’s still awesome! This time, we were incorporating it with siblings, one of whom was only a year old. So we knew we probably weren’t going to have them participating quite as much as the 4 year old. But that’s ok! We started the session with some family photos using one of our new bed scenes that we built over the winter! This is a custom Murphy Bed that is perfect for getting a nice scene for a variety of sessions while also being able to put it away when we’re finished for something else! After that, it was time to get messy! Mom had handmade the outfits herself, so we incorporated the similar colors of purple and pink to go with them. What a colorful session we had! Add in some gold glitter and it was beautiful to watch! Mom & Dad were blown away with the results and can’t wait to come back and see us for our unique holiday experiences too. Pink Winter Cake Smash | Cromwell, CT
It’s winter! And you know what that means…lots of birthday photo requests and one of our most popular themes is our Winter ONE-derland, pink winter cake smash! Everyone loves both of our boy and girl versions and everything in between to celebrate their child’s milestones! It’s definitely one of my most detailed sets, and I love putting it together for these families! I actually had 2 clients in a row that both requested this theme, so we made some slight adjustments so they could each have their own unique setting. This family had asked if I could photograph big sister and little sister together and I do try to make some quick accommodations when I can! After that, it was all about little sister for her first birthday photos! Now, little sister needed some comforting, as not being used to strangers quite yet due to COVID-19 had made her a little fearful of her new surroundings. But it’s a big reason I only schedule one photoshoot per day so that I can focus all of my time on each family in case something unexpected happens and we need more time to adjust. After some snuggles and stories with Mom, a snack, and pacifier, we were a little more willing to sit and take some photos together. And believe it or not – it was the cake that really got her interested! She couldn’t help but love the deliciousness from Betty’s Cake Creations (and I don’t blame her!). She just couldn’t wait to eat that cake as much as possible, spoon and all! Tub time wasn’t our favorite thing, but we still snuck in some cute photos before a typical “I’m done!” Crying photo at the end. Mom was just so happy that she enjoyed eating her cake and we had so many choices for them to pick from! Here are just some of their many favorites!
