Family Horse Photos | Cromwell, CT
In early October we traveled to the private residence of one of my clients for a unique photoshoot of family horse photos! This family property has two horses that are their pride and joy, and they asked if I would be willing to take photos on their property. I was so excited! Especially because my own daughter just loves horses, we brought her with us to help with their littlest one, who was just about 18 months old. It was an early morning photoshoot to make sure that we could capture the beauty of the sun around their land, and I’m so glad we were there to photograph them in its warmth! It was also quite foggy that morning which allowed for the sun to be filtered and created such a beautiful setting! We met their two horses, Cherry & Hunter, and although they were a little wary of my off camera flash that my husband was carrying around, they were so cute to photograph with the rest of the family! And the little Miss was just a cutie walking around in her little cowboy boots and beautiful mauve dress against the changing colors of the foliage and grasses. We had such an amazing photoshoot and there were so many favorites to share! I can’t wait to see their photos in a beautiful Signature Album that they will be able to enjoy for years to come! Which one of their family horse photos is your favorite? (more…)

60th Birthday Party Photography | Farmington, CT
Here we highlight the special 60th birthday party photography for an extended family in Farmington, Connecticut! The guest of honor’s daughter had contacted me over the winter time to plan for this special event to take place in May. Their goal was for it to be a surprise party (of course Dad found out later!), and it was going to center around a Norweigan Brunch in the morning (that I would photograph), and a Kentucky Derby party in the afternoon with other family and friends. Let me tell you, this family knows how to throw a party AND cook! The Mom’s side of the family is from Norway and a lot of their cooking traditions have been passed down. So it was important for me to not only capture portraits and the event taking place, but all of the food and preparations! When we arrived (my husband assisting!), we set up in their beautifully landscaped backyard for family portraits and photographed some of the details inside and outside as everyone was finishing getting ready. The guest of honor’s grandbaby was the star of the show, and at just 6 months old everyone wanted him in a photo as you will see! He handled being passed around the family VERY well, and it was a lot of fun capturing all of the different family groups. As more guests arrived and food started being organized, I wanted to photograph the family in their preparation roles (and even learned a thing or two about the traditions!). When the spread was complete it was amazing! And all of the guests were very excited to fill their plates with all of the homemade Norwegian goodness. As brunch was winding down, Mom stood up to give a short speech about her husband which was so sweet! Toasting was another important tradition and we finished the afternoon with some additional family portraits before wrapping up as a mean game of wiffle ball was on! It was such an honor to be asked to help capture this special milestone for their birthday party photography. Many times important events are difficult to host AND photograph while feeling pulled in a lot of different directions! Let me help you cherish these moments in a professional way, and also help you print them in a high quality way to relive! I can’t wait to see these in a beautiful album and frames! Enjoy some of the many favorites below!

Sweet Fall Photos | Newington, CT
I just loving seeing my clients come back for different session types during the year. Earlier in the year we met just with little sister for her hot air balloon first birthday cake smash (so much fun!). This time, it was for some sweet fall photos of their entire family! We were treated to a beautiful fall morning in October for our session at Rockwell Park in Bristol, CT. I LOVE using this space for family sessions, really any time of the year. It’s a hidden gem in Bristol I think, and there are so many places for children to explore, and families to sit on, walk on (the boardwalk area is so nice!), etc. There are leaves to throw, rocks to kick, ducks to look for in the stream, stone buildings to admire, and quiet places to just sit and enjoy family time together. They were so cute as they tickled and had some special moments with just mom/girls and dad/girls. I love how their sweet fall photos just pop off the page with their colorful outfits and background. Enjoy some of the images from their session!
