Holiday Pet Photos | Newington, CT

As most of you know, I do not shy away from other photography genres, provided I know that I have the skills to create amazing results for my clients when asked! Which is why when a very good client of mine asked if I could take some holiday pet photos of his two dogs to surprise his wife for Christmas, well of course I wanted to help make that happen! Now pet photography has it’s own set of challenges just as most genres do. Not only are you dealing with typical photography knowledge but it’s sort of similar to photographing toddlers who also have NO idea what you are saying and tend not to listen! 😉 Luckily, Ursa & Benson are VERY well trained – that makes a huge difference! They listened to their owner very well and weren’t too easily distracted by other people and dogs walking around, for the most part (we did lease them whenever there was anyone close by just in case – this is VERY important too!). I chose to use the Deming-Young Farm in Newington, Connecticut that has a really wide open field so there would be minimal distractions as well as room for them to run around and capture some action photos as well. We even took some adorable photos with added Christmas decor just for fun! Lighting changed a few times that morning and with 2 dogs having different coat colors, I wanted to make sure they both stood out well. In the end, we came up with 2 really nice custom frames of multiple images to gift to their “mom” for Christmas and I can’t wait to hear what this pet-mama thinks of them!
