1st Birthday Cake Smash | NY

Miss Zoey came to my Newington, CT studio for her 1st birthday cake smash all the way from New York! Her mom and I planned for a few months to create just the perfect set up. They were looking for a Kate Spade-style custom theme, but one that would also showcase the large flowers in every photo. Luckily I found just the right backdrop from Fancy Fabrics that mom could purchase with me (some detailed custom set ups incur costs beyond the scope of what’s included in my creative fees. At times, parents will purchase towards something very specific). Adding lots of flowers in front created texture and depth and with a cute one-year-old in front of it the setting was perfect! Zoey is already walking and on a mission, so it was a lot of fun chasing her around and capturing all of her many expressions. When it was time for cake from Betty’s Cake Creations, Zoey was in love! She could not get enough of eating that cake! I think she could have stayed all day eating! She was pretty disappointed when it was time to take the cake away (we don’t want our kiddos getting sick after all!) and cleanup with a nice bath. Luckily, Zoey loves bath time too! So there was plenty of play and splashing around while getting some great smiles for mom and grandma to enjoy.
